Anthony Z. Royster is a Chicago-based, Belizean-American traditional /contemporary visual artist specializing in acrylic painting, ink drawing and mixed media. His philosophy, “Not every idea is descriptive and not all thoughts have categories; sometimes they simply exist to inspire the next,” underscores his approach. Royster’s work challenges societal conformity, encouraging viewers to move beyond stereotypes and embrace open-ended inspiration. Starting from primary colors, black and whites, and an extensive color range, he creates pieces that provoke thought and redefine conventional expectations in art.
Anthony Z. Royster is a Composer-keyboardist and unorthodox songwriter that crafts soulful, improvisation-driven arrangements, blending rich harmonies, infectious hooks, and vocal choruses into fresh, genre-fluid sounds. Rooted in Chicago with deep ties to Dayton and Georgia, his style fuses expressive keys with a keen ear for new textures, shaping music that moves between spontaneity and carefully layered compositions.
